About The Artist
I’m Tiffany Dean, the artist behind Old Cupboard by Tiffany Dean. I want to express my sincere gratitude for your support of my creative journey. Below, you’ll find a brief overview of my background, inspirations, and current pursuits. Thank you for being a part of my artistic adventure!
I have been creating my whole life since I can remember. I grew up very poor in the South, where I didn’t really have many toys. Therefore, my imagination was the primary outlet for my creativity. I can remember waiting eagerly for the paper with grocery ads to come in the mail. I would cut out each product in the ads so I could make my own paper grocery store. I often crafted clothing for my few Barbies, using materials like toilet paper and tissue to bring my designs to life.
My journey into sewing began around the age of thirteen or fourteen while working for a ceramic doll-making company, where I crafted dresses for the dolls. By sixteen, I was employed full-time at a silkscreen company. Over the years, I have successfully built the life of my dreams.
I have been happily married to my amazing husband for 30 years, and we have two incredible children, each of whom have found their own remarkable soulmates. In April 2024, I became a grandmother to a joyful and smiley little boy. I also share my home with the sassiest cat one could ever meet, Olive!
I live and create in a small town in Wisconsin, which I wouldn't trade for the world. In addition to spending quality time with my family, I have a passion for paddle-boarding, hiking, traveling, thrifting, finding estate sales, and volunteering at my local homeless shelter! Recently, I’ve developed a newfound love for snorkeling and have been becoming a plant person!
My new line of art is focused, even more on saving all pieces of the past! I love taking things that people would otherwise probably just throw away and making beautiful pieces of art that I hope will live on for years! I truly hope my art gives people and appreciation of up cycling, taking something old and making it new again!
